ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is MaryAnn Carroll. I have been creating handmade jewelry since 2006. My early days of jewelry making eventually lead to creating my own beads made from porcelain and stoneware.

During this time, my husband Bill Perrine took up an interest in wood-firing. Wood fired pottery is the ancient form of firing. It was what potters did long before there was electricity and gas. Fortunately for me, I was able to make my own high fire beads and have those ceramic beads included in a wood-firing.

The experience of firing wood fired beads only one to two times a year makes a selection of her beads very unique. Why unique?

There are limited woodfire kilns in the US and those who wood-fire typically do so with larger pieces and often include other potters, who also have larger pieces, in a firing. I am able to create one of a kind wood-fired beads that are pretty difficult to come by. To learn more about the process of wood-firing, check out her husband Bill's website http://splitfirepottery.com.

I also loved learning about enamel beads. I've added that to what I am currently making. Since experimenting is something that I truly enjoy, I am sure that in the near future I will have added to my collection.

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to contact me with any questions. The easiest way to do that is directly through my Etsy shop.
